Getting Started

I have finished the first section of the book, Yay!

I started reading through the recipes today and am feeling overwhelmed.  There is so much information and I am reading in less the optimal enviroments for concentration. So I have decided I need a plan of attack. Some steps to take, outlined on a list where they can be checked off and referred back to easily. Checking things off list is very encouraging and motivating for me.

I have decided to take a cork board I have and make it the THM headquaters in the house.  This is the place where I can keep a list of my goals, shopping list, wish list (for things that would help with the plan but which we can't afford right away), price comparison list, menus, some encouraging scriptures, my implementation plan and many other things for sure.

Since I have two very little ones, and a house that is a diaster I am going to give myself one week to get this up. I will post a pic when its done.

One step at a time, one meal at a time, one day at a time for the rest of my life.

  1. With 2 little ones at home too, I can totally understand how overwhelming this is at the beginning. I'm just a week ahead of you on the THM journey, as I started the food last week while I was still reading.

I have found that starting with S meals has helped me, as too many E meals and I crave my old ways. For my 30 month old & 15 month old I give them my S meals/snacks but tweaked with a little fruit or bread to make theirs crossovers. I don't think I could manage it if I had to make completely different food for them, but chopping up some pear or apple to add to their plate is definitely doable for me.

This really is the most incredible lifestyle plan for health I think I've come across. Before you know it we'll both be Trim Healthy Mamas.
